Start getting your wishlist for the holidays ready now, because a new rumor suggests that brand new Nvidia GeForce RTX Super graphics cards will be here before the holidays. The refreshed gaming GPU lineup, which is rumored to include an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 Super and RTX 5070 Super, will reportedly feature a number of enhancements, including a boost to VRAM.
Nvidia hasn't officially announced a new Super set of graphics cards to compliment its existing RTX 50-series lineup. However, recent rumors suggest that mid to high-tier Blackwell GPUs like the RTX 5070 and RTX 5080 are expecting a refreshed Super model. Those cards are likely to come with serious gaming firepower that's sure to shake up the recommendations in our best graphics card guide.
Tech website Tweaktown is reporting, based on its own sources, that Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 Super series graphics cards, including the RTX 5080 Super and RTX 5070 Super, are "on track" for a launch in Q4 2025, potentially during the holiday season. This would mean Nvidia launching its refreshed Super-series cards less than one year after its first entries, the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, launched back in January 2025.
While the rumored launch date is new, this isn't the first speculation about these graphics cards that we've seen. Just last month, RTX 5070 Super specs were reportedly leaked, pointing at a card with 6,400 CUDA cores and 18GB VRAM. Meanwhile, a 24GB RTX 5080 Super is also reportedly in the works, with both models reportedly helped by the availability of 3GB GDDR7 memory modules that replace the 2GB chips on existing models.
Nvidia won't be saying anything about these new gaming GPUs until we're much closer to launch day, so take this news with a grain of salt until then.
