We all know that survival games and zombies often go hand in rotted hand, and Surroundead is no exception. The early access game started life in 2022 as a modest hit before exploding over the past couple months. And now the game is adding even more for players to enjoy, including more difficulty modes and items. Oh, and even more zombies.
Surroundead has been a hit with players since it was first released three years ago in early access, standing out amongst some of the best zombie games with its simple but striking artstyle. Recent reviews are 'very positive,' meaning that it currently sits at 91% on Steam from over 11,000 players, and an all-time peak of 5,477 players.
Surroundead tasks you with venturing across the ruins of a post-apocalyptic world to locate resources and weapons. You'll meet and trade with other survivors, manage vehicles, and maintain a base in order to carve out a living and survive the dangers that lurk in the shadows - including other humans. It looks like the perfect mix between fun shooter and tense horror, and that's even before you consider the hordes of zombies waiting to eat your brains.
And if that wasn't enough to keep you entertained, then I have great news for you: the latest update has now added even more zombies. Undead spawns have been increased in the new lab and abandoned camps, with even more camps now added to wilderness locations.
There are also fresh items like ghillie body armor and ghillie boots to pick up, as well as the introduction of new difficulty options, a health regeneration multiplier, battery depletion multiplier, and radiation filter depletion multiplier. Shotguns have also received a buff, including faster recoil and an increase in the base speed of reloading and chambering.
There's so much to dig into in this latest patch. You can find all the info for it here.
Surroundead is available on Steam now for $11.99 / £9.99. You can find more info here.
