What are the best Wuchang Fallen Feathers builds? With so many options at your disposal when it comes to picking the right type of weapon, spells, and more, it's extremely easy to put together a disjointed build. This can result in the game being much harder than it needs to be, and when you finally get a chance to try out some of our Wuchang builds, you'll soon learn how simple the game can be.

In Wuchang Fallen Feathers, you have six weapons to choose from, two types of the best spells, and a host of buffs to pick from. Fear not, as we've put together everything you need to prepare yourself in the soulslike game to take down all the Wuchang Fallen Features bosses without ever breaking a sweat.

Here are the best Wuchang Fallen Feathers builds:

Apart from our early game build, all of these Wuchang Fallen Feathers builds assume that you're at least level 50. They also take advantage of the Madness system, so make sure you're clued up on this important mechanic to understand how it ties into your game plan.

It's also worth pointing out that while you can play through the entire game with one build, Wuchang has been designed to switch up your playstyle depending on the area you're in and the enemies you're up against. Remember, respeccing is completely free, so be sure to cycle through our builds and change your armor set if you're struggling to get through any new areas.

Early Game Wuchang Fallen Feathers build

  • Weapon: Halberd (Axe)
  • Benediction Sockets: Bu - Blocking Clash, Wei - Skyborn Magic
  • Weapon Discipline: Block
  • Temperance: Bone Needle - Flame
  • Spells: Vorpal Blade, Infernal Flames
  • Skills: Health Siphon, Energetic, Chop & Weave, Strike & Cleave, Block - Variant
  • Jade Pendant: Gourd Pendant, Dracolich Pendant, Twin Infant Pendant

The Halberd Axe is the perfect starter weapon as it comes equipped with the Block weapon skill, a handy ability that will help you as you learn the ropes of the RPG game. Of course, you should use whichever weapon you feel most comfortable with, but when you're first starting out, the Axe's heavy-hitting attacks will make light work of the starting mobs. Likewise, Vorpal Blade and Infernal Flames are fantastic spells whenever you need to take out any enemies with low health, particularly when you're low on healing items and can't afford to take any damage.

Tempering your weapon is crucial to extracting more damage from your Halberd, and by taking advantage of the Bone Needle - Flame from one of the first bosses, you can burn enemies with every chop. While you can use it as you're traveling between areas against smaller mobs, it's essential when facing off against enemies with large health bars to maximize your temperance effect. As for your Benediction sockets, we've gone for the Bu - Blocking Clash in the Oath slot to improve both clashes and blocks, and Wei - Skyborn Magic in the Wisdom slot to increase spell damage.

When it comes to upgrading your Axe, you're going to want to pick up Chop & Weave right away. This skill transforms your light attack combo by adding Clash, allowing you to trade hits with your opponent without taking huge amounts of damage. This is vital in the early stages of the game to ensure you're not having to top up your health after every encounter. Similarly, it's a good idea to acquire Strike & Cleave to speed up your attack strings. It's also worth unlocking Block - Variant to reduce the stamina cost of blocking, improving your survivability.

You might be tempted to pour all of your skill points into the axe to get the most from this weapon, but there are some key skills you should focus on down the path beginning with Illusive. The first thing you need to pick up is Skyborn Call I, alongside Manna Potency and Manna Capacity to increase the number of times you can heal during combat. Follow this up with Health Siphon, which provides you with some healing whenever you can land the final hit of your light attack string. You should also aim to pick up Energetic, giving you extra stamina whenever you gain Skyborn Might.

Your Jade Pendants are largely dependent on what you have available; almost anything you have will be better than using nothing, so make sure you fill these slots as soon as you can. The Gourd Pendant helps to keep you alive when you're in danger by reducing your incoming damage when you're below a certain health threshold. Next up is the Dracolich Pendant which follows a similar pattern, reducing any damage taken and it prevents beast roars from making you flinch. Lastly, we have the Twin Infant Pendant which improves your stamina recovery speed, very helpful when using the Halberd, as it takes big chunks out of your stamina gauge with each swing.

Deflect Wuchang Fallen Feathers build

  • Weapon: Cloudfrost's Edge (Longswords)
  • Benediction Sockets: Wei - Poise Force, Ren - Skyborn Vigor, Wei - Counter Force
  • Weapon Discipline: Deflect
  • Temperance: Bone Needle - Poise Break, Shadow Stone Needle - Strength
  • Spells: Divine Ward, Echo of Lu Bingzhang
  • Skills: Sword Counter, Sword Savant, Sword Master, Steel Resolve, Bone Needle - Poise Break
  • Jade Pendant: Eagle Pendant, Lifesteal Pendant, Dragon-Fish Pendant

There are several bosses in the game who use weapons that can be deflected, and when you're up against one of these formidable foes, it's time to break out the Longsword. We've gone for Cloudfrost's Edge equipped with Bone Needle - Poise Break as we're planning on breaking poise often using this build.

Speaking of Deflect, you need Sword Counter to gain access to this weapon discipline, and be sure to pick up the two upgrades to help deal more damage. Under the Illusive branch, Steel Resolve rewards you with one stack of Skyborn Might whenever you deflect an attack. Just like our early game build, Sword Savant greatly enhances the Flamebringer by adding Clash to the third attack in the light attack string. Sword Master takes this further by rewarding you with two stacks of Skyborn Might if you land the fifth attack of your light atack combo.

To play to the Longsword's strengths, we've gone for the Bone Needle - Poise Break Temperance, alongside Shadow Stone Needle - Strength to deal additional damage. To take this further, Wei - Poise Force temporarily increases your damage whenever you break an enemy's poise. Ren - Skyborn Vigor ensures you're able to keep attacking by increasing your stamina recovery speed during Skyborn Might. Then we have Wei - Counter Force which increases the potency of counter moves, perfect for this build which utilizes these attacks often.

As we're heavily reliant on deflecting enemy attacks, we're primarily going to be using Divine Ward to reduce incoming damage for a short period of time. Whenever you have spare Skyborn Might, you can use Echo of Lu Bingzhang to deal damage whenever an enemy is in the middle of an animation that you can't interrupt with your weapon.

For the Deflect build, the Eagle Pendant is essential as it increases your stab attack power which the Flamebringer specializes in. Dragon-Fish Pendant gives you an extra bit of stamina which could help you land an extra attack when you otherwise couldn't. Finally, we've gone with the Lifesteal Pendant which is arguably one of the best in the entire game as it allows you to conserve your healing items. If you're up against a boss, switch this out for Twin Infant Pendant instead to benefit from improved stamina recovery speed.

Feathered Spellcaster Wuchang Fallen Feathers build

  • Weapon: Astral Blade (One-Handed Swords)
  • Benediction Sockets: Bu - Skyborn Ward, Sheng - Lasting Alacrity, Wei - Skyborn Magic
  • Weapon Discipline: Awakening Seal
  • Temperance: Bone Needle - Feathering, Shadow Stone Needle - Feathering
  • Spells: Echo of Lu Bingzhang, Echo of Soulwood, Echo of Lu Hongliu, Divine Ward
  • Skills: Biding Time, Unbroken Focus, Fury of the Skyborn, Skyborn Call III, Bone Needle - Feathering
  • Jade Pendant: Crimson Pendant, Coiled Dragon Pendant, Lifesteal Pendant

To become a spellcaster, there are several powerful skills in the One-Handed Swords skill branch that are essential to this build. As a result, we've gone for Astral Blade which has been designed specifically to buff spells through its base stats and with its Temperance effect. It also comes with the Awakening Seal weapon discipline which temporarily increases spell damage and accelerates Biding Time's Skyborn Might regeneration.

To kick off the Benediction Sockets, Bu - Skyborn Ward reduces incoming damage whenever we gain Skyward Might, which is going to happen often with this build. Speaking of which, Wei - Skyborn Magic also triggers a buff when you gain Skyward Might, except this one buffs spell damage. Follow this up with Sheng - Lasting Alacrity to extend the damage avoidance period when triggering Alacrity.

Spellcasters can benefit from Temperance despite dealing damage primarily using your weapon. The Bone Needle - Feathering buffs your sword by increasing the feathering effect, and that extra damage directly correlates to your Feathering stat. By utilizing this Bone Needle, you're now able to benefit from the Feathering stat using your sword. Pair this up with Shadow Stone Needle - Feathering to further increase your damage.

The most important part of this build are the spells, and we've specifically chosen Feathering spells thanks to their versatility. Echo of Lu Bingzhang might be our favorite spell in the game, equipping Wuchang with a deadly energy spear to rip through enemies. During the animation, you can trigger Alacrity which stops you from taking damage. For just two Skyborn Might, you're able to spam this spell constantly, making it the staple of this build.

Echo of Soulwood is an incredibly powerful spell with one major downside to look out for. This spell sends a chunk of exploding gore towards enemies, but it also causes Corruption build up whenever you activate it, so keep an eye on your Corruption gauge when you're using it. Echo of Lu Hongliu gives you one of those annoying shriek attacks that you've probably been hit by, dealing close-range damage to anyone caught in its AoE range. To wrap it up, Divine Ward is simply too good to ignore, reducing any incoming damage for a short period of time.

Biding Time is the main reason we're using a One-Handed Sword, automatically giving us a stack of Skyborn Might just for holding the weapon. This is enhanced with Unbroken Focus to stop your stacks of Skyborn Might gained from Biding Time from decaying below three. Fury of the Skyborn makes all of your Echo-type spells (everything we've included in this build) stronger by reducing the cost of each spell by one stack of Skyborn Might. Wrap up your skills with Skyborn Call III to increase the maximum stacks of Skyborn Might you can use by four.

You can enhance your spell damage by equipping the Crimson Pendant which increases your weapon's Feathering damage. Coiled Dragon Pendant increases the power of weapon skills, making Awakening Seal even better. Like our last build, Lifesteal Pendant is fantastic for most situations, but against a boss, you'll want to switch to something that better suits 1v1 fights.

Magic Spellcaster Wuchang Fallen Feathers build

  • Weapon: Astral Blade (One-Handed Swords)
  • Benediction Sockets: Bu - Skyborn Ward, Sheng - Lasting Alacrity, Wei - Skyborn Magic
  • Weapon Discipline: Awakening Seal
  • Temperance: Bone Needle - Magic
  • Spells: Echo of Liu Cheng'un, Thunderstorm, Burning Flames, Divine Blessing
  • Skills: Biding Time, Unbroken Focus, Fury of the Skyborn, Skyborn Call III, Bone Needle - Magic
  • Jade Pendant: Crimson Pendant, Crane Pendant, Lifesteal Pendant

The main difference between this build and the Feathered Spellcaster is, unsurprisingly, the focus on magic spells this time around. Unlike the Feathering spells, magic utilizes different elements, allowing you to fight against a variety of enemies by targeting their exact weakness.

Both the One-Handed Sword and the Illusive skill branches feature offshoots that go into Feathering and Magic buffs, so swap them out depending on which build you opt for. Our Jade Pendant selection has one slight tweak, replacing the Crimson Pendant with the Crane Pendant which makes all of your spells stronger when you're below a certain HP threshold. You can buff your spells even more using Bone Needle - Magic, temporarily improving your damage output using spells while wielding your weapon in its Temperance state.

Echo of Liu Cheng'un is a close-range series of sword swings that deals Frostbite buildup, capable of hurting several enemies at once. Next up is Thunderstorm, providing a deadly AoE attack that can hurt multiple enemies in one burst. Burning Flames is very strong against Feathered enemies as they can suffer from burns, and this spell is one of the best at applying this deadly effect. Lastly, Divine Blessing is a powerful healing spell, producing a golden circle on the ground that heals you whenever you stand inside it.

Those are some of the best Wuchang Fallen Feathers builds you can use to blast through the game in no time. While you're here, be sure to read our Commander Honglan boss guide to defeat this tricky foe. We also have a best Wuchang Fallen Feathers armor guide to learn which outfits will protect you from the game's hazardous environments.
