As the ultimate in-game hoarder, I always end up with more resources, items, and gear than I know what to do with - or can practically store in chests. Thankfully Minecraft has the answer to all my prayers: the shelf block. Now I can display all my prettiest items for everyone to see. And even better, you can test it out in game now.
It's every hoarder's nightmare when you run out of space to store all your precious items properly. As one of the best sandbox games around, Minecraft of course allows me to build all the chests I need to my heart's content, but it's a sad fact that most people won't get to appreciate the beauty of my finds. Enter the shelf block.
The perfect answer to my problem, the shelf block allows players to proudly display up to three items per shelf block. Even better, you can be easily swap the items in and out of your inventory, making it even easier for you to switch up your display.
And that's not all; you can connect these precious shelf blocks by powering them up with redstone, and even swap out multiple items from your hotbar. You can craft your shelf blocks using six matching blocks of any Stripped Log, Stripped Stem, or Block of Stripped Bamboo.
The shelf block has arrived in Bedrock Beta and Preview, along with the ability to turn the newly introduced, adorably handy copper golems into pretty, patina-covered statues, the chance for hostile monsters to pick up and use copper weapons and armor - because they weren't scary enough as is, a new edit world page, and a whole host of other updates.
The update comes after the new Smurfs DLC was teased by Mojang earlier this week. The pack has now arrived in the Marketplace, and includes a brand-new adventure that allows you to venture into the Smurfs village and meet Papa Smurf, Smurfette, and Hefty Smurf, with other bonus items and customizations available.
