There may still be a wait for Resident Evil Requiem's release, but it looks like there may be a new version of Resident Evil 2 here to fill that horror game gap in your life. Resident Evil 2: Dead Shot has arrived, and interestingly, it offers a fresh take on the beloved horror game by dipping into Capcom's arcade roots. Sounds cool, right? There's just one problem - there's only one test cabinet and it's in Essex, UK.
The Resident Evil franchise has seen several popular incarnations over the years - everything from spinoff strategy games to mobile releases, and now this new arcade version. Found at Namco Funscape in Romford, which is in the south east of England, it looks like the test cabinet for Resident Evil 2: Deadshot is an early version of the game, which may explain why there's only one available.
Bandai Namco and Capcom have teamed up for this light gun recreation of one of the best horror games. This iteration appears to be adapted from the 2019 Resident Evil 2 remake, and is apparently still in active development.
The game currently only has two playable episodes, with another three still locked. The first episode serves as a prologue, following Claire and Leon facing off against flesh eating zombies within the Racoon City police station; the second episode is simply titled 'Hunted.'
It's unclear how long the game will be available at Namco Funscape, so if you're in the UK and live nearby, you better be quick if you fancy testing it out for yourself.
It's not the only Resident Evil game to be announced recently that's not the hotly anticipated Resident Evil Requiem. A new multiplayer RTS game starring Leon, Claire, and Jill is set to arrive later this year.
