Where Winds Meet has already proven itself as one of the year's most-hyped games. I've been hankering to try out its slick-looking Wuxia-based combat for myself, signing up for every possible test to no avail. If you're in the same boat as me, there's good news. Developer Everstone Studio is expanding the capacity of its upcoming final beta, offering a glimmer of hope.
Set during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, Where Winds Meet has already been touted for big things - it could even secure a spot on our best open-world games list if it lives up to its billing. Chinese studios have been on a roll recently, with the likes of Black Myth Wukong (Game Science) and the upcoming Wuchang Fallen Feathers (Leenzee) showcasing major RPG chops.
Earlier this month, Everstone announced one last chance to try Where Winds Meet before launch. The week-long beta is set to kick off on Thursday, and you have until then to sign up. If you're successful, you'll be treated to a glimpse of the sprawling urban region, Kaifeng, which is said to house more than 10,000 NPCs; it's quite the technical flex.
Naturally, space is tight, so *Hunger Games salute* may the odds be ever in your favor. Offering up some wiggle room, Everstone has announced via socials that it's expanding the beta cap to 30,000 players. Ergo, that's a slightly smaller number of you I'll need to stick a virtual arrow through to book my spot.
If you've yet to sign up, you can request access for the Where Winds Meet beta over on its Steam store page. In the meantime, peep our list of the best RPG games you can play right now.
