All the best fantasy games come from folklore and fairy tales in my opinion, and Elflock looks like it'll be no exception. In a world inspired by Hungarian folklore and medieval European traditions, a young princess is called upon to save her homeland after a foreign empire threatens war - and it's giving me major The Witcher vibes, just minus the monster hunting.
Developed by indie team NovaSphera Studio, Elflock is set to be an intricate fairy tale, blending puzzle solving with a branching narrative that will ultimately end in triumph for this princess' homeland - or, if you make the wrong decisions, ruin.
Like most RPGs, every choice you make has consequences. And you'll need to tread carefully between trust and betrayal as you navigate the political maze of the royal court and attempt to resolve the simmering conflict threatening your home. Your soldiers grow tired in the war effort and magic is waning as the fight continues.
But not everything is as it seems in this mysterious and dangerous world, which blends the realistic and fantastical together. Investigate the castle that is your home, solve puzzles, and build relationships with those who inhabit its secretive halls - just make sure that you don't offend the Fae who live there. Leave no stone unturned as you gather evidence in your bid to help your father, the King, save the realm. Oh, and did I mention, you can pet the dog?
If that wasn't enough to convince you that this is a title to watch, Elflock will be fully voiced in Hungarian. NovaSphera Studio just announced that it's teaming up SzinkronSarok and its voice actors to record the game in Hungarian, with English subtitles. The studio is currently fundraising for the recording, and you can find out more info here.
It looks like Elflock is set to have all the fairy tale and fantastical goodness that makes The Witcher games so great. A set release date hasn't yet been confirmed for Elflock, but a demo is set to be released later this year, ahead of the game's launch in 2026. You can find out more and wishlist the game here.
