The Monster Hunter Wilds event quests for arch-tempered monsters will be made permanently available as Capcom responds to one of the most pertinent complaints around its new action RPG. Aside from the ongoing performance issues, which have been met with a widespread MH Wilds Steam review bomb, concerns around FOMO (fear of missing out) due to limited-time events are one of the game's most commonly discussed negatives. Thankfully, this issue will be mitigated very soon with the launch of the summer event Festival of Accord: Flamefete.
I've recently returned to Monster Hunter Wilds to take on its latest round of battles, and they're excellent. The long-requested Lagiacrus, Capcom's white whale for many years, is finally back in spectacular style, and the airborne, slide-tackling Seregios might be an even more brilliant battle still. Add to that the Akuma crossover, which gives you an entirely new fighting style, and Capcom's certainly been cooking up a treat, making the ongoing PC performance problems faced by some players even more of a frustration.
If you have the horsepower to run it smoothly, however, Wilds is certainly worth its spot among our best RPGs. Alongside these all-new introductions, arch-tempered fights have been another strong addition, giving some of the most impressive Monster Hunter Wilds monsters an injection of new moves and ramping up their difficulty. They also grant their own unique armor sets with distinct skill loadouts. Unfortunately, because each of these is only available for a limited-time stretch, you need to be on at the right time to earn their gear.
"In response to requests we received regarding arch-tempered monsters and their limited time availability, we are planning to make improvements in the future," Capcom writes in a new community update. Both the arch-tempered Rey Dau and arch-tempered Uth Duna quests will be made permanently available from Wednesday July 24, when the Flamefete Festival summer event kicks off. This also means the latter will arrive one week earlier than was initially planned.
Capcom adds that it is "considering making the event quests for the upcoming arch-tempered monsters and other event quests permanently available as well." While they're less significant than the ones mentioned above, the remaining roster of event missions does offer a variety of rewards, from unique cosmetic armor pieces to easy ways to get your hands on upgrade materials and consumables. Coming from Monster Hunter Rise and Sunbreak, where the post-launch additions stuck around forever, this would be a very welcome change.
The Festival of Accord: Flamefete will run from Wednesday July 23 through Wednesday August 6, and will offer its own range of special missions and rewards. We'd expect all prior event quests to be available during this period.
