Hit the ramps as Doom Slayer as Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 shreds onto Steam

Blast from the past Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is now available on Steam worldwide, and I couldn't be more excited to hit the ramps, explore new parks, and attempt to master gnarly tricks. Oh, and you can even do all of the above as Doom Slayer.

The legendary skateboard game returns today with everything that made Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 great, and even more. The core game remains the same: pick a skater and shred your way through missions on a range of maps.

Except now there are new, thrilling locations, like the Skate of the Living Dead pinball machine and Waterpark with its dried out lazy river, and even more skaters to choose from, including Doom Slayer and Revenant in the Deluxe Digital Edition, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, Michelangelo. I don't know about you, but shredding my way through the sewers sounds like a pretty sick way to spend my weekend.

There are plenty of customizable options for players new and old to explore too, including expanded Create-A-Skater and Create-A-Park modes. And for when you master all those maps and fancy switching things up, there are plenty of Game Mod settings that will allow you to craft your perfect skate. Cross-platform online multiplayer also means you can hit those ramps with up to eight friends across new and old game modes.

But there is a change to one big feature in the new THPS 4. In the original game, you were able to skate around levels and find NPCs to get missions from. This differed from its predecessor THPS 3, and the more recent Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, which works on a two-minute timer for challenges, and it was suggested that THPS 3+4 would be following the time-limited format with no NPCs.

It's since been revealed that this will be the case, but that players will be able to extend the time limit if they prefer to have more room.

Even without considering the slick graphics overhaul, it looks like there will be plenty of new content for you to delve into, and it seems like fans are pretty happy with the upgrade so far. Pre-order early access means that reviews have been dropping for the game on Steam over the last two days, with THPS currently sitting at a Mostly Positive rating at the time of writing.
