Rainbow Six Siege X might look like a realistic and tactical FPS on the surface, but in the decade since launch it's become anything but. Ubisoft has crossed the shooter over with everything from Yakuza to Rick and Morty, and even Nier (no, I'm not joking). Now, though, the colorful and chaotic universe of Borderlands is coming to the game, and I personally couldn't be happier.
Now that Ubisoft has finally upgraded its colossal shooter to Rainbow Six Siege X, it's far from done. In fact, the game got a massive surge of players ever since it was made free-to-play, and it's been holding strong ever since. So, where does Siege X go from here? Well according to Ubisoft, all the way to the planet of Pandora.
A new teaser from the official Rainbow Six Siege X social channels clearly shows the Borderlands series' iconic psycho dropping a lighter, indicating that the crossover is happening very soon. I'd guess that they're one of a few skins (at the very least) for existing operators, with potentially even more on the way.

What makes this crossover even more interesting, though, is its timing. It's been teased for the exact same day as another Ubisoft game event, as Payday and The Division 2 are set for something incredibly similar. Now, it's probably just a coincidence, but I can't help shake the feeling that something's going on. Maybe we're due yet another Ubisoft crossover on the same day, who knows?
With the Borderlands 4 release date looming, maybe we'll even see some sort of Rainbow Six Siege X crossover in that game (which I'm dubbing Rainbowlands X). Only time will tell though.
Ubisoft is teasing more for the Rainbow Six Siege X and Borderlands crossover on Tuesday July 15.
