I Tried Starbucks' New Firework Frappuccino, and It Tastes Just Like This Iconic Fourth of July Treat

We can always count on Starbucks to feature fresh new menu items that celebrate the season, and this summer is no different. The coffee chain's summer 2025 menu features bold fruit-forward options, with drinks that showcase the flavors of raspberry, blackberry, and blueberry. In addition to its seasonal offerings, Starbucks now has a Fourth of July-inspired drink—the Firework Frappuccino—that combines all the flavors and colors of the warmer months. But if you want to try out this specialty beverage, you've got to act fast—it's only available through July 7.

What's in the Starbucks Firework Frappuccino?

As the name suggests, Starbucks' Firework Frappuccino offers a burst of summer flavor with an Americana look. The new drink is made from the signature Summer-Berry Refresher (which is also on the summer 2025 menu), blended with coconut milk, and poured over raspberry-flavored pearls. But the deliciousness doesn't stop there: strawberry puree and vanilla sweet cream cold foam sit on top of the refresher base, creating layers of bright red, white, and blue.

“This is a summer vacation in a cup,” said Amanda Conaway, a Starbucks product manager, in an article for Starbucks Stories. “From the popping pearls to the creamy vanilla sweet cream, it’s a vibrant, textured beverage inspired by the sights and sounds of summer.”

My Review of the Drink

I got my hands on the Firework Frappuccino today, and at first sip, it tasted like strawberries and cream—but when the cream and puree mixed with the blue refresher and coconut milk base, the drink immediately reminded me of a classic Bomb Pop. The raspberry pearls add a juicy burst to the slushy-like drink. The Frappuccino's blend of fruity flavors and patriotic colors makes it the perfect treat for a hot afternoon on the lake, by the pool, or even as dessert while watching fireworks or sitting around a bonfire.

Other Summer Drinks and Treats

Available for a limited time, customers can get the sweet taste of summer by ordering a Summer-Berry Refresher. As the base of the Firework Frappuccino, it features a similar profile with more tanginess. To create the drink, a bold blend of raspberry, blackberry, and blueberry is shaken with water and ice and poured over a layer of popping raspberry pearls. Customers can also ask for lemonade to get the Summer-Berry Lemonade Refresher or creamy coconut milk for Starbucks' Summer Skies Drink.

Inspired by the classic Latin-American beverage, Starbucks is also offering an Iced Horchata Oatmilk Shaken Espresso this summer. According to a Starbucks Stories article, it features "a fusion of warm cinnamon, sweet vanilla, and subtle nutty notes reminiscent of the rice milk that makes up a traditional horchata."

Along with the Berry Refreshers and the seasonal Shaken Espresso, customers can order a Strawberries and Cream Cake Pop from the summer menu. Made with strawberry cream cake and buttercream, the cake pop is dipped in chocolate and decorated to look like a ripe, red strawberry.
