Snag the best headphones and earbuds deals ahead of Prime Day

Between the Mashable shopping and tech teams, we've put in a lot of time testing the best headphones and earbuds. From noise-cancelling to budget options, we want to know the best of the best.

So naturally, when sales like Amazon's Prime Day roll around, we make sure to track all the deals on which models we've tried (and those that are in our testing pipeline). Though Amazon isn't kicking off their members-only sale until July 8, we combed through their headphones pages to find the best deals that are already live.

Admittedly, the deals available so far are decent, not great, but shopping early can be a good way to avoid the actual chaos of the sale (or grab deals that aren't member-exclusive). Though the list below is small, it's well curated — we avoided adding any "deals" that have been marked down to their current sale prices for the past several months. (Pro tip: the Apple AirPods Pros are almost always $199. It's not really a sale price.) We'll be updating this list in the run-up to Prime Day as more deals go live.

Why we like it

Aren't ready to drop $450 on the new Sony WH-1000XM6s? The WH-CH720N headphones are a more budget-friendly option from Sony. They're plastic and don't come with the case, so you'll lose some of the premium feel of Sony's flagship headphones. That said, they are lightweight, come with 35 hours of battery life (with ANC on), and have multipoint pairing. As our sister site CNET (also owned by Ziff Davis) put it, "The CH-720N offers the appealing combination of a lightweight, comfortable design with respectable performance."

Best earbuds deal

Why we like it

There's a decent chance you've never heard of the EarFun Air Pro 4 earbuds. They may not be from a bigger earbud brand, but they certainly sound like they are.

When we first tried these earbuds out, we were impressed by the balance of their sound, their excellent fit, and their impressive (adjustable!) active noise cancellation. Going two for three on that list would be acceptable at their price point, but EarFun knocked it out of the park — and they have great battery life, too. They show their price most on their somewhat inconsistent touch controls and bulky case, but for just $63, we're not complaining much.
