What are all the Borderlands 4 legendary weapons so far? Fortunately, Gearbox has confirmed that legendaries are rarer and harder to obtain in Borderlands 4, making them feel well earned when encountering a tough boss fight or randomly stumbling on them thanks to sheer luck.
Both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3 had a tricky time with finding the right balance when it came to legendary loot, and although there are some returning fan favorites, it's the new inventions we're most looking forward to getting our hands on in Borderlands 4. As the Borderlands 4 release date approaches, we've already seen some of the legendary weapons coming to the looter shooter.
As well as five staple Borderlands weapon manufacturers: Maliwan, Jakobs, Vladof, Torgue, and Tediore, BL4 also adds three new manufacturers, and we're interested to see which legendary weapons arrive alongside Order, Ripper, and Daedalus. Order weapons focus on precision with powerful burst ammo, Ripper guns charge up to become fully automatic, and Daedalus weapons are all-rounders, incorporating multiple ammo types.
Borderlands 4 also adds the Licensed Parts system, so some weapons have parts from different manufacturers. This applies to all tiers of weapons, including legendaries, so there's more scope for creating truly unique weapons, and that's without legendary special effects, too.
Here are the BL4 legendary weapons we've seen so far:
Vestigial Complex Root
- Manufacturer: Maliwan
- Special effect: Spawns additional diverging projectiles along its path.
- Weapon parts: Maliwan - Can switch between shock and corrosive elements.
This sniper rifle can be obtained from a vending machine, but it's unclear whether that's the only way to get it right now. It's a returning Borderlands 3 weapon and fires additional projectiles that fly in random directions on impact or while traveling to the target, creating clusters of further projectiles that can obliterate enemies.
Double-Creme EZ-Blast Husky Friend
- Manufacturer: Tediore
- Special effect: Husky Auto Turret
- Weapon parts: Tediore - MIRV Homing - Thrown weapon is homing and spawns four grenades on impact. Jakobs - Critical Hits will Ricochet Projectiles to nearby enemies.
This legendary drop can be farmed from the Primordial Guardian Inceptus boss, it's a Tediore shotgun that can spawn a mini rocket launcher turret, and although this one isn't on legs or looks like a boss, it still does a fair amount of damage and can help with crowd control during big fights or when tackling swarms of enemies in new areas.
Ambushing Phantom Flame
- Manufacturer: Jakobs
- Special effect: Zooming in acquires Lock on targets over time, and firing while zoomed in shoots the entire mag.
- Weapon parts: Jakobs - Critical Hits will ricochet projectiles to nearby enemies.
This pistol can be obtained randomly from a chest after defeating the Primordial Guardian Inceptus. It's a new Jakobs pistol, capable of fully releasing an entire mag when zoomed in on a target. It can also cause additional damage on critical hits, with bullets ricocheting to nearby enemies.
