Network Explains AEW Wrestler (And Hardcore Vocalist) TV Absence Following Anti-ICE Chants

The network owner behind All Elite Wrestling's popular TV shows says it did not have a hand in keeping wrestler Brody King out of the ring this week, despite what many fans out there speculated.

King, who has been vocal about not supporting the actions of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in recent months, was showered by "fuck ICE" chants from the crowd in attendance during the Feb. 4 episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS.

In addition to wrestling, King is also the vocalist for the recently-disbanded hardcore group God's Hate.

Warner Bros. Discovery Addresses Brody King Not Appearing on 'AEW Dynamite'

King was not prominently featured on Wednesday's episode of Dynamite.

His absence was notable since he is currently part of a major storyline on the show that is building to a world heavyweight championship match this Saturday.

Reports surfaced on Thursday morning that King had been kept off the show by TBS owners Warner Bros. Discovery due to the anti-ICE chants the previous week.

Hours later, the company statement to wrestling news website Fightful.com denying any part in keeping King off TV.

"Warner Bros. Discovery did not have any involvement in Brody King's upcoming AEW schedule," the statement to Fightful.com reads. Any speculation to the contrary is categorically false."

Warner Bros. Discovery went on to promote King's upcoming title match this Saturday.

Wrestling writer Dave Meltzer, who was one of the first to allege Warner Bros. Discovery's involvement in the decision, later noted that AEW also confirmed the company didn't push to keep King off TV on Wednesday.

"Those at AEW have said nobody from WBD asked them not to use Brody King on last night's show and this was just how it was booked to only use him in a video package," Meltzer said in a post on X.

Brody King Selling Anti-ICE Shirts

In addition to posting his thoughts about ICE activity on social media, King has also partnered with a company to sell "abolish ICE" T-shirts with his image on the front.

Proceeds from shirt sales will be donated to the Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee.

Headlocked Comics has also partnered with King for a special edition comic book. The cover shows an illustration of King wearing an "abolish ICE" shirt.

Proceeds from comic book sales are also being donated to the MIRAC. The comic book is available via the Headlocked Comics website.

King announced earlier this month on social media that the efforts had already raised a combined $58,000 that will be donated to the group.
