This dual-mode Asus gaming monitor is ideal for everything from CS2 to triple-A, and it just hit its lowest ever price

If you're looking for a single gaming monitor that can do it all, but don't want to spend over the odds, this Asus ROG Strix XG27UCG deal is for you. Packed into this 27-inch display is a panel that can offer the ultra-sharp image quality of 4k but then switch to a 1080p mode that runs at an ultra-speedy 320Hz - ideal for competitive gaming.

These sorts of dual-mode displays are some of the best gaming monitor options around, with the likes of the LG Ultragear 32GS95UE being our overall top pick at the moment. Where that model is a 32-inch OLED that costs over $1,000, though, the Asus XG27UCG is far more affordable, at just $337.99. That's a massive saving of 25% from its original price of $449.

Dropping to its lowest ever price, the XG27UCG not only includes this super-useful dual-mode tech but is packed with other top-tier features too. For instance, it includes Asus' exclusive Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync (ELMB-Sync) technology, which flashes the backlight of the display on and off very quickly to significantly reduce motion blur.

Crucially, unlike many competing backlight-strobing motion blur techniques, this one works with adaptive sync, so you can get the benefit of ultra-smooth motion without having to give up on the frame tear and stutter-reducing benefits of adaptive sync. Up until the debut of Nvidia G-Sync Pulsar, ELMB-Sync was the only motion blur reduction tech to work with adaptive sync. To that end, while this display doesn't support G-Sync Pulsar, it does have official Nvidia G-Sync support, and will work with AMD FreeSync too.

As an LCD display, this panel can't claim the sub-1ms response times and infinite contrast of an OLED. However, it does have a Fast IPS panel rated to an average response time of 1ms GTG. Its contrast is also a solid 1,000:1, plus its color reproduction is excellent, with 95% DCI-P3 color space coverage. That means that when you're watching HDR, this display won't have any trouble reproducing the vivid, eye-popping colors HDR can demand.

With a full adjustable stand - including a little phone dock in its base that is genuinely really useful - this really is the ultimate 27-inch gaming monitor right now. Whether you want to bask in the visual glory of AAA games rendered at 4k@160Hz, or rip through your opponents at break-neck speed in 1080p@320Hz mode, this display really can do it all.

As I said at the start, this display originally cost $449 and has not just hit its lowest ever price. It has hit under $400 a few times before, and even hit $339 in last year's Black Friday sales, but right now it's even cheaper, at just $337.99. Just head on over to this link to Amazon to grab this deal while you can.
