Here are our favorite Steam Winter Sale 2025 deals, including The Witcher 3 for $4 and Arc Raiders' first price drop

The Christmas cheer is on the up as we approach the big day, but the prices on some of the biggest Steam games are plummeting down. The Steam Winter Sale has arrived, and even by the previous standards of Valve's seasonal sales, this one's a belter. From some of the top releases of 2025, to some old gems that you're ashamed to say you still haven't played, it's a great time to stock up on some new games for the holidays.

As always, my number one Steam sale tip for you is to consult any games on your wishlist that have already been released but you haven't pulled the trigger on yet - a sizable discount could be enough to convince you to finally add some to your library. However, I've also trawled through the deals to bring you several great options. Whether it's surprisingly high discounts on some of Steam's most-played games right now, or picking up some of the best PC games ever made for the price of a sandwich, I've got you covered.

Arc Raiders (20% off)

If competitive multiplayer games aren't really your bag, then I'd never try and flog you a dead horse and convince you to play one. But with Arc Raiders, things are a bit different. Extraction shooters earned a reputation for being brutal and unforgiving, and make no mistake, if you queue up as a trio on one of the game's hardest maps and start blasting other players, Arc Raiders can live up to that billing.

However, it's also a remarkable outlier in that this survival-focused, PvPvE shooter is also a goldmine for enjoyable, unexpected, and genuinely heart-warming social interactions. There's probably a higher chance bumping into a friendly raider who just wants some help getting some quests done as there is encountering a bloodthirsty, 200-hours-playtime demon. It's certainly my favorite multiplayer game of the year, and potentially the decade if it manages to sustain its current buzz. This is Arc Raiders' first discount since launch, making it just $31.99 / £24.79.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (50% off)

In a world where Expedition 33 is delayed or simply never comes to be, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is probably walking away with Geoff Keighley's GOTY crown. Warhorse's ridiculously deep medieval RPG features some of the best storytelling around, immersive cities and sprawling countryside, heavy melee combat, and enough historical accuracy to impress even the nerdiest of nerds.

In the Steam Winter Sale, KCD2 has been slapped with its biggest discount ever, and is now half price at just $29.99 / £24.99. Given the base game's size, that's a steal, but KCD2 will most likely leave you thirsty for more, so I'd actually recommend grabbing the Royal Edition, which is also 50% off but throws in all three of its post-launch expansions. If you're able to stretch to $39.99 / £32.99, you definitely should do.

Fallout 76 (90% off)

I know, I know - isn't this the game that was so laughably buggy and broken at launch that it was ridiculed to high heave? Yes, it was. But these days, Fallout 76 is a far cry from the mess it was when it first dropped. It's now a bustling, content-packed MMO that's been buoyed by the popularity of the Fallout Amazon series the last couple of years.

Right now, it's at its lowest ever price on Steam, with a 90% discount making it just $3.99 / £3.49. Four bucks for an entire MMO based on a franchise that's red hot right now? Excellent stuff. There's no essential, aggressively priced subscriptions or mountains of paid expansions either - once you've bought the game, the vast majority of content is available for you to play.

Silent Hill f (40% off)

I expected Silent Hill f to appear in the Steam Winter Sale, but what I didn't expect was a very generous 40% discount for a major game that's been out for less than three months. A bold move by Konami to take its iconic horror series to a Japanese setting, the gamble absolutely paid off. Danielle labeled it "an instant horror classic" in our Silent Hill f review, bestowing it with a 9/10 score for the way it honors the tone, themes, and combat of past classics in the series while still paving a new path forward for future titles.

While I presume most of you die-hard horror fans out there have already got to grips with Konami's latest, its story and atmosphere are engrossing enough that those without a spooky disposition will likely enjoy it too. With this Winter Sale discount, Silent Hill f is now $41.99 / £41.99.

The Witcher 3 (90% off)

I've got them, you've got them, we've all got them - I'm talking about classic, must-play games or series that we've just never got around to. If The Witcher 3 is still yet to be ticked off your list, it's time to change that. An essential RPG, it's a masterclass in storytelling and world building, and the ending can be manipulated based on your decisions. A day-night cycle will change the type of monsters and foes you encounter. The third-person combat sees you wield two swords - a steel one for humans, and a silver one for beasts - but the melee action is infused with elemental magic spells. It paved the way for so many fantasy RPGs that have come since, and to be honest, it remains a better experience than many of them.

While it's not uncommon to see it heavily discounted - it is ten years old now, after all - you don't always see it with this much money knocked off. Thanks to a 90% discount, you can grab it for just $3.99 / £2.49. The content-to-price ratio on this is pretty wild.

While these are my top five highlights, here are some quick honorable mentions that you should definitely check out if these titles have been on your radar:

  • Recently released superhero narrative game Dispatch is already 10%
  • Slay the Spire, the addictive card-based roguelike, is 90% off and less than three bucks (a sequel is on the way in March next year, too)
  • If you're looking for maximum game time for minimum cost, the frankly enormous Far Cry 6 is 83% off and its lowest ever price on Steam
  • With Requiem arriving next year, Resident Evil 4 is also at its lowest price ever with a 60% discount

So, there are a few options for you to mull over, but remember there are hundreds more deals on Steam right now, so be sure to check those wishlists or just wade through the deals page on the storefront to find even more discounts. All of the offers above will run until Monday, January 5, so you've got plenty of time to make your decisions.
