If you were hoping to somehow get your hands on one of the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Dhahab edition graphics cards, laden with real gold, then you're going to have to cough up more than three times the $6,806 MSRP. Scalpers have gotten hold of the cards, exclusive to the Middle East, and are looking to make a healthy profit on eBay.
In our RTX 5090 review, we highlight the sheer speed of this Nvidia GPU and found its new multi frame gen to be "transformative for path tracing." This results in the RTX 5090 being one of the best graphics cards your money can buy, but whether you really want to spend $23,000 on a gold one is your call.
On eBay right now, there are four listings for the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Dhahab Edition, ranging from approximately $15,100 to $23,000 based on currency exchange. We covered the reveal of this card and what makes it so special: 6.5g of 24-carat gold is used in the design.
If price is truly no consequence to you, and you are still interested in one of these new RTX 5090 cards, it's worth noting that of the four eBay listings we found, they all use photos that appear to have been taken in the same spot. In fact, all of the listings contain the exact same photo of the product box with some ROG paperwork next to it.
Remarkably, the most expensive listing is currently under offer, although it's hard to know whether this offer is anywhere near the $23,000 / £16,999 asking price, or is a fake offer made by an account also owned by the seller, trying to drum up interest.
Call it personal taste, but I don't see the appeal of this gold-laden graphics card, and while I certainly wouldn't turn it down for free, there's no way I would entertain paying its $6,806 MSRP, let alone more than three times that via an eBay listing.
