What is the Universal Tower Defense tier list of best units? If you're the type to reroll until you're powering through the base game content with nothing but Mythic and Secret units, this Roblox UTD tier list is going to be a blessing. To keep things simple for launch, and to go with the grain of players who'll make multiple accounts to get the best start possible, we'll largely ignore Rare units in favor of rarer units deserving of your upgrade materials.

Now out of early access, Universal Tower Defense has welcomed over two dozen new units to its roster for what's being dubbed UPD 0 in the Roblox game. Between Secret units like Jinoo, to top-tier Support characters like everyone's favorite virtual idol, we're ranking the best down below to keep you from blowing precious gems on banners that have nothing to offer, and upgrade materials on characters destined for the bin.

Here are the best UTD units for launch:

Again, note that we're not grading each Rare and Epic unit. Outside of Support units, at least. With no Common or Uncommon rarities in the game, these units are technically the most common of the lot.

They're quickly outranked by units higher up the rarity ladder and barely offer much utility beyond the first few maps, at which point they become nothing but fodder for stronger units.

Best Support unit in Universal Tower Defense

Given they're in short supply, having at least one Support unit in your roster can trivialise even the hardest challenge maps.

To that end, Miku, known as 'Virtual Idol' in-game, is considered the best of the best. She boosts either the DMG or RNG of units around her by 18%, with this increasing to 28% once she hits her Super Star Evo. When you're running a full squad, the scaling of her boosts is plain to see.

Scarlet Maid, Lulu, and Shunks are all worth adding to your team if you pull them before this hallmark unit, but Miku beats them all with gargantuan buffs.

What's the best DPS unit in Universal Tower Defense?

Outside of the simple answer of Jinoo being the best DPS in Universal Tower Defense unit, which we'll ignore given his near-impossible Secret pull rate, Dragon Guy is the way to go.

Not only does he freeze enemies - a godly move in any tower defense unit - he can stun them, too. He builds Fury as he acts, eventually becoming Hybrid and buffing his stats and passives for a few minutes.

He sells himself afterwards, which can be a blessing and a curse depending on the situation, but in most cases, he'll cause so much disruption that the spontaneous cash injection will only be a boon.
