Several of the key Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 specs appear to have just been leaked on a PC and laptop manufacturer's storefront, adding more evidence to the pile about the rumored new gaming GPU. Nvidia hasn't even officially announced the RTX 5050, but this is one of a number of leaks suggesting that its release is imminent.

This latest specs leak concerns the laptop chip, rather than the rumored desktop Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 version, but if it's true, it looks as though both the desktop and laptop versions of the RTX 5050 will share the same core specs. This latest rumor about the unannounced Nvidia GPU not only appears to reveal the number of CUDA cores and the memory configuration, but also specifically states the boost and base clock speeds of the RTX 5050.

The leaked RTX 5050 details appear in a listing for the Helix 13 laptop made by German PC manufacturer Kiebel, as spotted by regular tech leaker momomo_us. Not only is the GPU name listed in the title, but you can also scroll down to see all the details of it. We've shared a screenshot of it below, using machine translation from the original German language listing.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 specs leak from Kiebel.

The listing shows the RTX 5050 laptop GPU as having 2,560 CUDA cores, 80 RT cores for ray tracing, and 80 Tensor cores for AI work, such as Nvidia DLSS. Meanwhile, the VRAM is listed as being 8GB of GDDR6, rather than the GDDR7 memory used on all of Nvidia's other RTX 5000 GPUs, connected to a 128-bit bus.

This is all very similar to the RTX 3050 specs, which had the same numbers, but with a different architecture, and they're also identical to the rumored specs of the desktop RTX 5050, suggesting that Nvidia is going to launch the same GPU for desktops and laptops.

Kiebel also states that the RTX 5050 uses Nvidia's GB207 Blackwell GPU, which looks set to be the smallest chip in the new lineup. If this is true, we would also expect the desktop RTX 5050 to be based on the GB207 GPU, given that both chips reportedly have the same core specs.

Comparatively, both the laptop and desktop versions of the RTX 5060 are based on the GB206 chip. This new leak also appears to reveal the clock speeds of the new chip, which it lists as 2,235MHz for the base clock and 2,520MHz for the boost clock. These figures are lower than previous RTX 5050 clock speed rumors, suggesting that a wide range of clock speeds will be available for this GPU, depending on the TDP

Of course, Nvidia hasn't even confirmed whether the RTX 5050 even exists or not yet, so don't take any of the above as the gospel truth at the moment, but it would be great to see a proper new budget gaming GPU on the desktop, and the evidence is certainly piling up now.
