I can't think of many games with as perfect a name as Satisfactory. There are few feelings in gaming so utterly satisfying as laying out the perfect base and watching your clockwork masterpiece whirr, grind, and tick over as it collects and processes innumerable resources. Don't just take my word for it; the automation sandbox game has a near-perfect 97% Steam score from nearly 200,000 user reviews. It's about to get even better, too, as developer Coffee Stain Studios prepares to unleash its first big post-launch overhaul, Satisfactory 1.1, and to celebrate it's going cheap right now.

One of the biggest and best sandbox games on PC, the 1.0 launch of Satisfactory cemented its reputation as a champion of the automation builder format. Start out by harvesting basic resources from the giant open world, then quickly begin placing down machines to do the dirty work for you. Before you know it, a vast network of generators, refiners, and combiners connected by conveyor belts and pipes will lay in front of you, churning through materials at an alarming rate.

Arriving in just a few days, the long-awaited Satisfactory 1.1 update is packed with even more handy tools. New vertical connectors, three-way pipe junctions, and priority mergers allow even more ways to arrange the transport systems around your base. Expanded 'straight build' and 'curved build' settings make it easy to keep everything neat and tidy. Customizable personnel elevators, throughput displays, stackable shelves, and all manner of other additions help round out any gaps in your kit that might have been spotted since the full release.

If you're eager to dive in, a new Steam sale and corresponding discount on the Epic Games Store mean you can snag Satisfactory at a serious saving. Alternatively, if you already have a copy, perhaps it's time to encourage your friends to join you; with so much to organize and arrange to build the perfect base, a few like-minded individuals can turn Satisfactory into one of the best co-op games around.

Satisfactory is 30% off on Steam and the Epic Games Store through Thursday June 12, so expect to pay $27.99 / £23.45. The Satisfactory 1.1 update launches Tuesday June 10. Head here to grab it cheap while you can if you're ready to start building.

If your hunger for construction still isn't sated, here are the best building games on PC right now. For something at a slightly different scale but with similar themes, here the best city builders in 2025.
