Dead by Daylight's 2v8 mode is back, and it's accompanied by two of my favorite killers
My worktime breaks are spent watching Brian 'Limmy' Limond play videogames. There's probably a bit of Scottish pride in there, but I genuinely find his bizarre, playful humor and dry sarcasm far too funny. I also appreciate his focus on showcasing indies - ones that streamers tend to leave on the shelf in favor of this month's next big thing. While I've happily watched him unravel mysteries in The Séance of Blake Manor, or pronounce 'Astarion' wrong several times during his playthrough of Dead Take, there's nothing quite like his Dead by Daylight shenanigans (even if I'd kill him if he was my teammate). I've effectively learned DBD by Limmy osmosis, helped along by my wonderful colleague, Danielle. It's a game I've not spent much time playing, but given that 2v8 is back and it includes my favorite killer, I can hear The Entity calling.
DBD 2v8 mode is a slightly different take on the horror game's standard isometric gameplay, doubling both the amount of killers and survivors and dumping them into huge, sprawling maps. It's beloved by the Dead by Daylight community, and as its grown over the past year it's added several new characters to its roster. This time around, in what's dubbed the 'Konami Takeover,' both Dracula and Pyramid Head are joining the fray, and I can't wait to hack up some survivors as The Dark Lord himself.

If you're not a killer player, however, there are two new survivors on the roster as well. As you've likely expected, Silent Hill's Cheryl Mason and Castlevania's legendary vampire slayer Trevor Belmont have entered the fray, and are completely free to play for the event's duration.
To really get into the spirit of things (pun intended), there are four Silent Hill and Castlevania-themed outfits for all of Konami's characters. Trevor can cosplay as his legendary ancestor Richter Belmont (the star of Castlevania: Nocturne and a mainstay of the franchise), while Dracula's very rare Scorched Terror outfit imagines what the age-old bloodsucker would look like if he'd been left out in the sun for too long.
Over on the Silent Hill side, Cheryl Mason's Awakened Order outfit sees her participate in a gory ritual, while The Executioner dons a fleshy coverall with added blood and chains. It's no secret that The Dark Lord's my favorite of the lot: what can I say, I like vampires.
Dead by Daylight's Konami takeover event, which includes the return of 2v8 mode, goes live on Thursday November 6 at 11am PST / 2pm EST / 7pm BST / 8pm CEST.
