Resident Evil is teaming up with Babymetal in a collaboration I did not see coming, but am 100% here for
I didn't expect to be writing Resident Evil and Babymetal in the same sentence when I woke up this morning, but here we are. The Capcom series that has brought us some of the best horror games of all time is teaming up with headbanging idols Babymetal to celebrate 30 years of survival horror. The big anniversary celebrations are set to take place in 2026, and I'm already fascinated to see how the pair come together.
I appreciate that Maggie Robertson's Lady Dimitrescu has now seemingly become the face of Resident Evil as a whole, and everyone's favorite tall vampire is back once again, this time to announce "some very special news. It's almost Resident Evil's 30th anniversary, and to celebrate, Resident Evil and Babymetal will be releasing collaborative goods. You can get your grubby little hands on some Resident Evil and Babymetal merchandise. That's all for now."

So, as far as we know, this is just going to be some form of merch that combines the two aspects. Honestly, that's exciting enough that I can already feel my wallet quivering, but I'm quietly hoping that we get at least something more.
Does anyone else remember Japanese rock band L'Arc-en-Ciel's 'Don't Be Afraid,' which was also used in Resident Evil collaborations and got a promotional VR video set in Racoon City? Danielle's Resident Evil Requiem preview already has me eager to get my hands on RE 9, but what if Babymetal were to perform the credits song? Let me dream.
Resident Evil Requiem launches Friday February 27, 2026. Check in with everything we know about the Resident Evil 9 release date for all the details that have been revealed so far.
Alternatively, take a look through the best action games you can enjoy today, or blast your favorite tunes as you play with the best gaming headset.
