Ingredients
-
1 (12-oz.) pkg. semisweet chocolate chips (2 cups)
-
1/4 cup salted butter
-
1 (14-oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
-
1 tsp. vanilla
-
2 cups all-purpose flour
-
1 (8-oz.) pkg. almond paste (made without syrup or glucose)
-
Sprinkles (optional)
Chocolate Glaze
-
1 cup powdered sugar
-
2 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
-
1/2 tsp. vanilla
-
6 to 8 tsp. milk
Directions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. In a medium saucepan combine chocolate chips and butter. Cook and stir over low until melted and smooth, 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from heat. Whisk in sweetened condensed milk and vanilla. Gradually stir in flour.
-
For each bonbon, shape a 2-tsp. portion of dough around a ½-tsp. portion of almond paste to fully enclose. Place 1 to 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets.
-
Bake until soft and shiny, 6 to 8 minutes (do not over bake). Transfer to a wire rack; cool completely.
-
Make the glaze. In a small bowl stir together powdered sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, and vanilla. Stir in enough milk (6 to 8 tsp.) to make brushable glaze consistency.
-
Brush chocolate glaze over bonbons. Place on wire rack set over waxed paper. Decorate with sprinkles. Let stand until set, about 15 minutes. If you like, serve in bake cups.
