In high school, I woke up at 5:45 a.m. to begin my transformation. I turned my hair straightener to 450°F and burned my hair to the high heavens until it was pin straight, and then I caked on makeup: full-coverage foundation two shades too dark, white under-eye concealer, glitzy bronzer, a thick stripe of liquid liner, and 10 layers of mascara. All that just to throw on a pair of sweatpants.
Today, my routine is much shorter, with skincare at the forefront. After hyaluronic acid serum, vitamin C, and moisturizer, I use Erborian’s CC Cream—a pore-blurring face base that made me say goodbye to foundation forever.
I have no patience, so this product is perfect for me because I saw results immediately. The buildable formula comes out white, like sunscreen, but melts into my skin as I rub it in. It takes seconds to erase imperfections: redness, light and dark spots, and, most shockingly, pores. I had a cow when I first realized how good this was. I have never been more excited about a skincare product in my life.

What is a CC cream?
The “CC” stands for “color correcting.” It’s makeup that doubles as skincare designed to even out tone and texture. CC cream is lighter than foundation, with more coverage than a tinted moisturizer, making it a great option for concealing redness, blemishes, and patchiness. It gives a natural, even finish that still looks and feels like real skin.
It actually doesn’t even end there. I had a monster zit on my neck for two weeks, and with a swipe of the CC cream, it was nearly gone. My mom was there when it happened; she audibly gasped, took out her phone, and opened the Amazon app. The mailman dropped the CC cream off at her house two days later.
Not only is this seemingly some sort of magic potion for filtered skin, but it also doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything and keeps my face moisturized all day without getting oily. My skin looks like skin, albeit more radiant, and my pores, while hidden, can breathe.

It wears really well under makeup—liquids, balms, and powders—and includes both SPF 25 and soothing centella asiatica, also known as tiger grass. I’m pale, so I use the color Clair, which, nice enough, still looks good when I put on a fake tan.
A little goes a long way, which makes the above-average price point easier to justify. If you don’t want to commit to a full-size tube before experiencing the results yourself, grab the smaller (and cheaper) size for just $25. Here are some other best-selling items from the K-beauty brand I’m excited to add to my cart.
