Digimon Story Time Stranger talent guide and how to increase level cap fast
How do you increase talent in Digimon Story Time Stranger? Talent is nothing without hard work, and that goes double for digital monsters. Talent determines a Digimon's maximum level, which in turn imposes a limit to how strong it can become from experience alone. We can walk you through how to raise that talent cap and help your team reach its full potential as early as possible.
Like most Digimon RPGs, Digimon Story Time Stranger has a ton of stat values that all feed into your digital monster's performance in battle. Whereas bonus stats like DS Story Time Stranger personality types offer passive buffs and effects, talent puts a definitive cap on how strong your Digimon can become. Here's how to increase talent level in the RPG game, and how DS Time Stranger digivolution can affect your Digimon's level cap.
Digimon talent level explained
Your Digimon's talent value is its level cap. Once its level matches its talent value, it won't be able to continue to earn EXP and level up until you increase its talent level.
Your Digimon's starting talent level is determined by the scan rate when you convert it. To ensure that a Digimon's base level cap is the highest it can be, you should only convert it once its scan rate has reached 200%.
To increase a Digimon's base level even further, unlock the Awakening Sagacity agent skill on the Bonds of Valor, Philanthropy, Amicability, and Wisdom skill trees. This adds five levels to a Digimon's starting talent level, provided it matches the personality of that particular skill tree.
Your Digimon's talent progression is hidden from view, calculated behind the scenes as you raise it. You only see the outcome of this growth after digivolution - but don't run off to evolve everything just yet. Your Digimon's talent doesn't increase just because they digivolve or de-digivolve. For example, if you digivolve a freshly converted Digimon, their talent level won't improve.
Here's how to increase your Digimon's talent level fast:
- Participate in battle
- Train on the DigiFarm
- Load enhancements
- Digivolve
Battle and train
Digimon need to participate in battle or train on the DigiFarm for their talent level to change after they digivolve. The DigiFarm offers a passive but gradual increase to your Digimon's talent progression, whereas a Digimon's actions in battle can offer bonus progression. Striking weak points, executing a final blow, and winning without taking damage all ensure your Digimon's talent level cap is higher after digivolution.
Load enhancements
Loading enhancements is by far the fastest way to increase your Digimon's level cap, but it's not necessarily the most effective. Not only does each enhancement come at the obvious cost of another Digimon, but it only increases the talent value cap by a single point. This means that you'd have to sacrifice many digital monsters for the sake of maxing out a single Digimon's talent level.
Digivolve
You can accrue minor talent growth from digivolution alone if your Digimon has at least a 10% Bond. However, this only increases your Digimon's overall talent progression by a couple of points at most, and only applies to digivolutions you haven't yet unlocked. In our experience, it isn't worth the reset to level one. Instead, consider it a bonus on top of the progression you've accrued from the main strategies above.
A Digimon's talent level won't ever deteriorate after it digivolves. The worst that can happen is it'll have the same level cap as its previous form, so it's pretty impossible to go wrong. Just follow our tried-and-tested strategies, and your Digimon should hit Talent Level 100 in no time.
