Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is one of the better multiplayer third-person shooters to come out in the last decade. Though its plot and characters are largely forgettable, the game's tactile combat compensates for other shortcomings, which is important since engaging in many, many gunfights forms the core of its design. Players looking for an action-heavy apocalyptic game alternative to Stalker 2 or PUBG — or a gear-focused FPS to try out ahead of Borderlands 4 — are in luck, then, as The Division 2 is available at a steep discount on Steam right now.
The Division 2 is already a massive game, even without its new DLC adding more to the post-apocalyptic action-adventure game. Its creators have continued bulking out the co-op project with years of updates and tweaks that have provided plenty to do to in a rundown vision of Washington, D.C. that's filled with locations to explore, equipment to collect, and enemies to fight.
And now's as good a time as any to dig into all of it. Likely as a result of this week's Battle for Brooklyn DLC launch and its current discount, there are plenty of players flocking to The Division 2. Last Monday May 26, the game had 4,407 concurrent players while it's jumped to 9,332 players at the time of writing.
The Division 2 is 90% off on Steam from now until Wednesday June 4, 2025, which brings its price down to $2.99 USD / £2.49. Grab a copy right here.
