Who are all the Borderlands 4 characters and which is the best class to pick? Now we know all four vault hunters coming to Borderlands 4 at launch, we can already plan which Borderlands 4 class to choose.
The Borderlands 4 release date is nearly here, and there are a bunch of returning characters including Claptrap, Moxxi, Zane, Amara, and more. There are also a host of new faces such as the main antagonist, The Timekeeper, and allies in Defiant Calder and new navigation robot, Echo-4. If you're wondering which Borderlands 4 class to choose, here's what we know about each vault hunter so far.
All Borderlands 4 Vault Hunters
The Borderlands 4 characters are:
- Vex
- Rafa
- Harlowe
- Amon
Vex – The Siren
Gearbox went into more details on Vex in a recent gameplay deep dive, exploring some of her abilities and different skill trees. Vex is the Siren of Borderlands 4, but unlike Amara, with her gut punching arms, or Maya's healing abilities, it looks like Vex is a mashup of the two.
She seems to be able to buff her abilities and use phaseblast to deal powerful blows, but depending on which action skill you choose, she can also summon familiars like Trouble, a saber-tooth tiger that adapts to Vex's elemental type depending on which weapon she's using. She's been described as a Spooky Siren, due to her ghostly Siren abilities, such as vampire wings that help her get around and her ability to summon reapers and spectres.
Rafa – The Exo-Soldier
Rafa is a former Tediore soldier and wears an experimental exo-suit that seems to be able to conjure weapons on the fly. We've already seen him dual-wielding some snazzy looking knives, and he also has laser guns and shoulder mounted cannons. He's described as an agile vault hunter, so if you like playing rogue or assassin type characters, it looks like this class is for you.
Harlowe – The Gravitar
Harlowe is a combat scientist and comes from the Traunt family; despite her family history, it seems she's become a vault hunter and has five PhDs (very impressive), putting them to good use by creating new tech and gadgets to wield in battle. She loves life and is described as having a sunny disposition, using gravity against her foes by imploding and exploding them, and generally just throwing them about a bit.
Amon – The Forgeknight
Amon was raised in a Vault-monster cult, worshipping monsters, and ultimately this led to the demise of his family and friends. Now Amon is a pure killing machine, tracking down and killing monsters as revenge. We haven't seen much of him in combat, but he looks like a tanky class. He has forge drones built into his spine and arm which he can manifest into weapons like a sword, axe, hammer, shield, spear, whip, and many more.
The best Borderlands 4 class comes down to your playstyle. So far, Vex looks like the most versatile of the vault hunters and a good match for solo players. Rafa might be a bit squishy, but if you like agility and movement speed, it seems like a great option. Harlowe is perfect for those that like using gadgets in combat, and Amon is a giant, hulking weapon, described as a sci-fi Viking, so there's something for everyone.
Now you're caught up on the best Borderlands 4 class and characters for the multiplayer game, here's whether Borderlands 4 is coming to Game Pass, and if Borderlands 4 crossplay is available at launch.
