One of the first features that drew me into my current apartment was the big windows that allowed in a lot of natural light. While I certainly love the sunshine, it can make my apartment quite hot in the summer— and since I need my air conditioner more, my electricity bill increases, too.

So when I saw the highly rated Jisulife Handheld Mini Fan on Amazon, I was immediately intrigued. The fan had tons of great reviews (over 7,800 with five stars!) and was foldable, unlike some of the other small yet bulky styles out there. However, what sealed the deal was the price. The promise of cool air for $15? I added it to my cart immediately.

I opted for the pink shade but the fan is offered in five other colors: black, blue, brown, light green, and white. I like that the pink option is easy to find in my bag and adds a cheery pop of color to my work from home set up, too.

The fan is foldable and can be set to sit at your desk or used as a handheld style. It folds into a compact style and although it has a little bit of weight, it’s not heavy by any means. I can easily put it in my bag and have it handy while I’m walking around or riding the subway.

When my apartment gets too toasty, I prop this fan up on my desk or coffee table and enjoy the cool breeze. The fan has two speed settings that can easily be adjusted by the power button. Both are fairly powerful and cool me off quickly and efficiently. While the fan does emit some sound, it’s not nearly as loud as an air conditioning unit and isn’t disruptive during meetings or phone calls.

There’s also a flashlight setting, which is activated by holding down the power button. Though it’s not my go to use (and can’t be used at the same time as the fan settings), it’s great to have if you’re using it for a camping trip, concert, or evening stroll.

After owning this fan for a year, I’m also impressed by its battery life. The brand claims one charge gives up to 19 hours of use and I’ve only had to charge it a handful of times since I got it, so it’s one less device to worry about.

While I can’t recommend this handheld fan enough, there are tons of other options out there in different sizes, colors, and with varying speed settings. To help, we picked several other highly rated picks you can shop on Amazon now.
