Hallmark’s 'Countdown to Christmas' Returns in October with 80 Hours of New Holiday Content

Fall has only just begun, but Hallmark is already launching its annual "Countdown to Christmas" event (it’s basically the network’s version of an enormous advent calendar). If Hallmark's Christmas in July event wasn't enough, starting in mid-October, Hallmark will not only be showing Christmas movies every hour of every week until Christmas, but will also be releasing a massive amount of new holiday content.

Will There Be New Hallmark Holiday Content This Year?

In total, there are around 80 hours of new Christmas shows and movies expected to air this year. Of course, you’ll also be able to rewatch old classics during the lineup, too. 

A few new movie highlights coming up this year include a small-town ranch owner who falls in love with a (secret) princess, a time-traveling Christmas movie set in both 1905 and 2025, and a news reporter who dreams of covering feel-good stories over the holidays. There are dozens of new Hallmark adventures for you to fall in love with this year. 

Hallmark is also releasing another NFL collaboration this year, this time focusing on the Buffalo Bills. It’ll be a little different than the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce-inspired Hallmark romance that went viral in 2024, but fans are excited to see this new love story play out all the same.

How to Watch

You can watch "Countdown to Christmas" on the Hallmark Channel. The schedule typically features one new movie at 8 p.m. ET on Saturdays and Sundays. New movies will first show on the Hallmark Channel, and will then be available to watch the day after they premiere on Hallmark+.
